Clare has worked in Wigan LA for 23 years and has experience of the full diversity of schools that Wigan offers: socially and economically deprived, affluent and high social class, community and faith.
As headteacher, Clare has led numerous whole school improvement projects her more recent including; the introduction of the Learning Challenge Curriculum, improving the quality of teaching i.e. moving from good to outstanding, quality of assessment and accelerated achievement to ‘narrow the gap’.
Clare has commenced training as an Inspector for Ofsted with CfBT and on completion will be accredited to inspect under the 2012 framework giving her a unique insight as a practising head into the Ofsted process.
Clare is currently the head of a school judged by Ofsted to be outstanding.
