Keith is a Senior Consultant with Focus. This role involves leading large scale national conferences, working with groups of schools, working with individual schools and inspecting schools. Keith adopts a straight forward and open style which colleagues in school value highly. He draws on a wealth of experience in his day-to-day work. Prior to joining Focus Keith had worked as a headteacher in three schools before becoming a local authority officer. Keith’s third headship was of a school in special measures. The experiences of his previous headships helped him lead the school out of an Ofsted category. Keith has also worked as an associate headteacher to two schools in vulnerable and challenging circumstances as well as working with the local authority to establish a headteacher mentoring scheme. As a local authority officer he had experience of leading national programmes across the LA. Keith works with schools on all aspects of school improvement. Much of his work is linked to teaching and learning, curriculum, assessment and inspection issues. Keith has undertaken Ofsted inspection training and is accredited to inspect under the 2012 framework.
