Profile:

Angela works as an Associate Consultant with Focus. This role involves working with groups of schools and individual schools; both as a trainer and consultant. Angela has had the experience of being headteacher in two contrasting contexts. Her first headship was in a one-form entry school in one of the most deprived areas of Sheffield; dealing with a large number of challenges. Angela’s second headship was in a very large primary school in an area of mainly owner-occupied housing which had been judged by Ofsted as having ‘serious weaknesses’ with significant concern related to leadership and management; including a serious budget deficit. The school was removed from this category after its first inspection and later judged to be ‘good with outstanding features’. Angela’s leadership was highly praised; noting, ‘The leadership of the headteacher is outstanding and contributes significantly to pupils’ excellent behaviour and attitudes to learning’. Angela works with schools on all areas of school improvement pulling both on her own leadership experience and extensive experience of supporting a large number of schools in very different contexts.
