Name:	Mrs Lesley Barringer

Profile:

Lesley is an associate consultant with Focus. This work involves supporting schools through training and consultancy. Lesley’s substantive position is as a headteacher in the City of York, working within a rapidly changing area with a large proportion of its pupils choosing to come to the school from out of the catchment. A head for 16 years, in this second headship she has led the school from being in serious difficulties through year on year improvement to be the successful, oversubscribed and outstanding school it is today. She has worked in a number of local authorities and was trained to act as an intervention headteacher working with schools in special measures. Lesley has experience as a Consultant Leader and is also a School Improvement Partner where she supported schools in Leeds, Hull and North Lincolnshire. Lesley continues to support schools on behalf of local authorities. In addition, she works as a Local Leader of Education and Professional Partner working with the National College and her own local authority. She firmly believes in working alongside schools and with people and is passionate in her belief that schools are a learning community for children and adults alike, focusing on creative learning and excellent teaching and learning.
