Anne works as an associate consultant with Focus Education. She has 37 years teaching and leadership experience in a wide variety of schools, teaching pupils in KS2, KS1 and Foundation Stage.
Anne took on the headship of her last school in 2002 when it was designated as a ‘school for concern’. Since then Anne has led the school through three successful inspections. In 2006 OFSTED commented that, ‘An effective leadership team has been created under the outstanding leadership of the dynamic and energetic headteacher. There is a clear vision for school improvement based on a highly rigorous analysis of the school’s ongoing work. Robust and effective monitoring systems are in place.’
In 2009 when the school was graded outstanding in all areas; the outstanding leadership, the enriching and creative key skills curriculum, excellent early years provision, monitoring and self evaluation systems, high standards and pupil well-being were just some of the areas acclaimed by Ofsted. The school was also graded as outstanding in all areas by Section 48, RE Inspectors in both 2006 and 2009 and holds Quality Standards Awards for Early Years Excellence.
During the most recent inspection under 2012 Framework, the HMI described Anne as an, ‘Inspirational headteacher (who) has the commitment and trust of all staff who share her drive for excellence’.
Whilst continuing as Headteacher, Anne has worked as a School Improvement Partner and also carries out RE Inspections for the Liverpool Archdiocese. In addition, she has supported aspiring headteachers through the National College ‘Putting Heads Together’ Programme, is accredited as a Local Leader of Education and Professional Partner by the National College and has successfully supported two schools on the NCSL ‘Primary Learning Three’ programme. She also advises schools who are undergoing conversion to academy status. In order to gain greater insight into the ever changing inspection frameworks, Anne is currently undertaking OFSTED inspector training with SERCO.
Anne and her staff have worked closely with Focus Education for many years, working in partnership with Clive Davies on School Development and the ‘Learning Challenge’ approach to teaching and learning. In 2012, OFSTED said of the school, ‘The imaginative curriculum underpins effective teaching across the whole school. Subjects are creatively linked and teachers present exciting activities which fire pupils’ enthusiasm… An imaginative curriculum and enthusiastic teaching leads to exciting learning opportunities which pupils thoroughly enjoy.’
In July 2012 Anne retired from Headship to devote more time to consultancy work with Focus Education and the Archdiocese of Liverpool.
Safeguarding Anne has an enhanced CRB disclosure.
