Focus work in partnership with a range of organisations.

Commissioning Solutions
Focus has established relationships with specific LAs linked to their role as commissioners of services to schools.

School Groups
Focus can work as a partner with school groups and academies to provide bespoke school improvement input linked to your specific requirements.

Purchasing Publications

Some local authorities purchase Focus publications in bulk to achieve a good discount for their schools.

Training programmes for school improvement staff

Focus has worked with many LAs to provide CPD for their advisory and consultancy teams. Most recently this has included work on quality evaluation, evaluative writing, inspection skills, evaluating learning and curriculum innovation.

LA/Focus partnership
Focus works with many LAs to run training programmes on their behalf. These programmes often contain a bespoke element which meets the needs of the local context. The most popular example of this is our work with numerous authorities offering training in inspection and self evaluation skills through our popular HIT programme (Headteacher Inspection Training). More recently, we have written and delivered programmes for specific groups, e.g. hard to shift schools, moving from satisfactory etc.

Bespoke pieces of work
Focus often undertake specific pieces of work for local authorities. Recent examples of this include undertaking focused reviews of named schools, evaluating the effectiveness of a specific intervention, drafting and consulting on a new school improvement policy.

Contracts with local authorities
Focus currently has a number of contracts to work with local authorities.  These involve Focus and the LA working to a pre-agreed specification; agreed via a tendering process. An example of this is the work we undertake in several authorities completing school evaluations on shortly after the appointment of a new headteacher.
