We recognise that whilst schools invest heavily in training and development linked to subject knowledge and professional skills; the success of any school is linked to the quality of its people. At Focus, we know how important it is for people to be developed and challenged in order to deliver their best – we are committed to it with our own team.
Part of our core offer involves working with groups, teams and individuals on leadership and personal development. This can be in relation to a specific issue (e.g. a change process, conflict, communication etc) or a process of investment in the person/people. As our consultants have strong track records in school leadership we are always able to contextualise work for colleagues in school.
All packages of work are tailored to your needs and can be a one-off event or a series of sessions. We have clear expectations about contracting to ensure that that there is an open dialogue with the client and expect this to be shared with participants before the session in order to ensure a truly transparent approach.

Some schools we work with like to use a development tool as a ‘way in’ to individual and/or team development work. We have expertise in using the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI) for this purpose. The MBTI ® instrument is recognised worldwide as a foundation for improved individual development and self awareness. This tool takes a positive approach to understanding differences between people and provides a common language for discussion and development. People find the MBTI easy to grasp, insightful and thought-provoking – often experiencing ‘light-bulb moments’. MBTI can only be administered by a registered practitioner. MBTI can be used a tool in relation to: • Team development • Leadership development • Conflict management • Coaching • Stress management • Interpersonal skills development If you think this type of approach might be useful for you and your school, please call or email. We will always ensure that a registered practitioner will contact you to discuss your requirements before committing to any work in order to ensure we can meet your needs based on the information you provide.
‘Coming together is beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.’
