Example Case Study: CHRIST CHURCH PRIMARY SCHOOL, LICHFIELD

Christ Church Primary School is a large school in Lichfield. The headteacher is Sheila Gaffiney. The Focus consultant working with Christ Church School is Simon Camby.

How the school have used Focus...
We have used Focus Education for a number of years, accessing a wide range of their services. We became aware of their services five years ago when they delivered curriculum training for the local authority. We thought the course was excellent and have continued to use their services since then, including:

A central training course for Ofsted inspection delivered to the Head and Deputy Head.
Consultancy training on developing the curriculum.
Publications to support SEF writing and curriculum planning.
 
This year we have worked with Simon on whole school improvement. He worked in school with the leadership team and led a whole staff training day. This enabled us to develop our ideas and improve our practice. It has had a very positive impact within school. Consequently, we have now booked further consultant time with him to support us in moving our school to ‘Outstanding’.

What the school think...
The training and resources we have purchased have always been excellent. It is good to work with consultants like Simon who have a deep understanding of current educational practice and the skills to adapt them in training, meeting the needs of our school.
