Middlesbrough, Durham and Gateshead LA bought every primary school a copy of Chris Quigley’s Every Child Matters book prior to publication at a reduced rate.
Many LA’s have bought SEF made Simple, Understanding your PANDA, Focus Foundation Stage Progress Tracker and other publications in bulk and achieved a large discount for their schools.
Infact so many LA’s recommend Focus’ publications that some even have a stand in their professional development centre so schools can view our books upfront.
Focus has worked with many LA’s to train their advisors in inspection skills, this even led to many advisors becoming qualified inspectors under the new 2006 framework. For instance, Durham, Newcastle, Wirral, and Bradford.
Focus are currently working with many Local Education Authorities to train headteachers in Self Evaluation Skills. This has been extremely successful and has further followed with training in Focus’ nationally recognised HIT Programme (Headteacher Inspector Training).
Focus has provided key note speakers, workshop leaders and consultants for large and small LA Conferences, the audience has been made up of both headteachers and advisors.
