Focus News – Christmas Term 2017
… And 2017 is coming to a close… what a whirlwind of a year it’s been! Take a look at the highlights of the Autumn Term.
It is important to us that we get involved in charity events and fundraising. This term we have participated in Macmillan Coffee Morning and Children in Need, raising over £150.00. For Christmas, we are collecting food for the Oldham Food bank, which we will deliver on the 15th December.
There have been plenty of special moments at Focus Education this term. We ran the Focus English and Focus Maths event at Madeleine Lindley’s Book Store. These events were a great success and delegates really benefited in further understanding our main maths and English products and how to use them. We also ran a successful Learning Challenge Curriculum VIP event at Boothroyd Primary school, ‘Creating a Curriculum that’s Fit for Purpose’. Both these events went well and we are planning another VIP event in the spring term, watch this space.
Other exciting moments in the Focus office: We met Cleo from BESA to discuss the challenges faced in education, mainly the challenges faced around the budgets.
We have booked on two international exhibitions; GESS in Dubai at the end of February and BSME in Abu Dhabi at the end of March. We have joined COBIS and BSME and we are very excited about what’s to come in our international venture.
We have been planning for BETT in January. We will be exhibiting with 2Eskimos! This will be a great opportunity to properly launch our exciting new inspection software. We have attended a Business in Education Seminar, have developed our Rewards process – we have partnered with other organisations such as 2Eskimos, Madeleine Lindleys and OTrack to provide an even better Rewards system – if you are a Rewards member you now also get discounts off products with these companies! If you would like to read more about our Rewards club or you wish to sign up, please click here.
Another incredibly special moment to us was when pupils from Roundthorn school visited us for a takeover day and spent time with us in the office. They learned how to pack books, bind books and general computer work. We had a lovely time with the pupils and they really benefited from the experience, saying it was ‘The best day ever! We gained a lot of experience, knowledge and skills’.
