Diane is an associate consultant for Focus Education, with over 20 years experience working in the field of Special Education Needs and Disability.
She has worked in senior leadership roles across a variety of schools and settings, including Home and Hospital School, and is currently an executive headteacher in a special school for learners with complex needs which is part of a Multi Academy Trust.
She has also been commissioned to work with Local Authority School Improvement to help to identify gaps and develop provision.
Her strength of experience is in developing different provisions for a wide range of learners with SEND, supporting strategic planning, leadership and management of special schools and specialist provisions within mainstream, assessment without levels for learners with SEND in a variety of settings, curriculum design for learners with SEND in a variety of settings and provision for pupils with LDD & challenging behaviours.
Additionally, Diane has worked with the DfE developing Teachers Standards, representing special schools. More recently, Diane has chaired the Rochford Review which was to consider and define statutory assessment for pupils working towards the standards of the National Curriculum tests.
She is a qualified and active Ofsted inspector with accreditation to inspect SEND.
Diane has an enhanced DBS disclosure.
