This checklist has been designed to assist school leaders with the induction of a new member of teaching staff or teaching assistants. It also includes a set of good practice guidelines for induction.
The length and content of induction will vary depending on the nature of the new member of staff's role and their previous experience.
The checklist is designed to suggest general issues/topics that may need to be included during induction in order to assist the new member of staff settle in as easily and effectively as possible. Not all of the suggestions will be relevant to everyone so they can be marked as 'Not applicable'. Space has also been left on the lists for school leaders to add other topics as appropriate.
This is a really useful document for school leaders when new staff are joining a school or setting.
