Course DescriptionThe Early Years Foundation Stage is changing. This full day training will enable you to become familiar with the new early learning goals and will help you to consider the changes necessary to your early years curriculum to support the childrens progress to the goal.
We will look at the new educational programmes (Development Matters) that accompany the new goals and how they will fit into your approach, for example, the number goal now deepens childrens understanding to number 10 and the new self-regulation aspect of the educational programmes. We will also look at the knowledge that children need to be successful and how to make texts and reading a central part of your approach to ensure children attain the many reading aspects embedded within the majority of the early learning goals.
You will start to consider the changes necessary to your existing curriculum based on the new educational programmes and how this may impact on the rest of the school progression documents.
You will also look carefully at elements of existing practice and what might need to be refined or changed in the environment, planning, observation, assessment, and teaching.
This course is suitable for leaders, teachers and practitioners, subject leaders, and anyone with an interest in early years.
