Page 5 - Art Auditing the Intent, Implementation and Impact of the Art Curriculum
P. 5

Key Stage, but also broken down into
year group progression?
e.g. the progression in learning to
develop pattern and texture using a
range of media, from printing with
sponge shapes in EYFS to using
software to manipulate and
enhance photographs KS2.

How has the curriculum been
adapted to enable all pupils to
access content and make progress,
according to need and starting
point?

e.g. can all pupils access art
activities and enrichment, regardless
of SEND or disadvantage?
Can all pupils take part in after-
school art clubs and art events?
What about if parents of pupils
eligible for FSM are expected to
purchase the pupil’s art work after a
themed event?

How does the school ensure pupils
can at least meet end of key stage
requirements in art?

Are all aspects of the NC
programme of study being taught
effectively e.g. are pupils learning
about craft makers and designers
(not only artists), describing the
differences and similarities between
different practices and disciplines,
and making links to their own work?
