Which documentation may be useful?
It can be helpful to have some basic documentation to
hand which can support a book scrutiny:
RAISEonline Consider conversion rates, group achievement – boys/ girls;
disadvantaged/ no disadvantage; lower attainers/ high attainers; etc.
Year Group Knowledge of Year Group Expectations will be a must when making
Expectations judgements about standards and achievement. Part Two of this
publications sets these out for you and should help you to recognise how
Planning well pupils are doing in relation to them.
Assessment Planning documentation can be helpful for some book scrutinies, e.g. if
Data you are looking at differentiation, it may be helpful to compare the
planning with the written outcomes.
Sometimes it is helpful to know the most recent assessment outcomes for
the pupils you are looking at to provide a context for their work.
Compare Compare the outcomes as indicated in the work books against the
outcomes targets that may set for individuals, groups or full classes. Look at both
from scrutiny numerical targets and curricular targets.
