This document allows practitioners to look at the developmental stages that children work through from the age of 2 to when they leave early years.
The document is written to take account of the 'best fit' methodology and will enable you to assess how much progress a child has made in each aspect of learning, as well as being able to say whether they are on track to reach the early learning goals.
Additionally, there is curriculum guidance that enables practitioner to look at where gaps in learning and development might lie to enable them to provide the right provision to meet all children's needs.
Those children who attend nursery for 3, 4 and 5 terms are also taken into account and there is a possibility they can access a 'transition curriculum' to support the embedding of their learning.
