Course DescriptionThis half-day course is ideal for newly appointed primary headteachers in school likely to soon be inspected.
The course is based on the experiences of recently inspected schools in a range of contexts from around the country. This includes schools that had a graded inspection and schools that have had an ungraded inspection. Advice will be shared on how to best manage the inspection process, especially for headteachers who have not led a school through an Ofsted inspection, or have not led a school through an inspection under the current framework.
By the end of the course, attendees will be better prepared and know what information to have ready, as well as how to manage the process to show the school in the best possible light.
This is also a really useful course for deputy headteachers who are new to the role.
The course will address the following:
How do inspectors use IDSR as a starting point?
What will be asked in the initial phone call?
What key information will inspectors require?
Deep dives: What will these entail and how can senior leaders and subject leaders be best prepared?
Top tips from headteachers whose schools have recently been inspected
