Focus News

What a term we have had here at Focus Education, we are certainly ending the year on a high. Here are some of the best moments at Focus Education in the autumn term 2016.

Charity Fundraising

We have had great fun taking part in charity events this term, dressing ourselves and our office up for them! We participated in wearing pink, eating pink, and thinking pink on Pink Friday to raise money to support Macmillan Breast Cancer, and we wore spotty clothes and ate spotty food on Children in Need day. We really enjoyed both these days and raised money for two very important causes.

New Staff

We were sad to say goodbye to JP and Alessandro at the beginning of term, but we’ve been thrilled to welcome Amy, our new Business Support Executive and Shekina, our new Digital Marketing Executive to the Focus Team. Welcome to the team guys!

Special Moments

We’ve been very lucky this year. Our staff attended a training day with the very thought-provoking Les Duggan. We learned all about coaching, development and the GROW goals process. 2Eskimos popped in to train us on their new reading assessment app that we’ll be selling for them. It looks fantastic – watch this space!

We are hugely excited to announce Focus Education are now working in collaboration with NAHT Edge, developing a series of CPD courses aimed at middle leaders in schools. To find out more about this exciting collaboration, take a look at the press release: NAHT Edge and Focus Education Collaboration. We have linked up with Iris to ensure a solid video platform for our services and our fantastic consultant Ros Ferrara was on Twitter last week with UK Edchat discussing Grammar. What a term!

Festive Fun

And finally, we have had a great deal of Christmas cheer. Christmas jumper day sparkled, we glowed (literally) on our Christmas do at the White Hart, and we’ve really enjoyed eating our daily chocolate (or chocolates for the naughty ones!) out of our advent calendars – yum. We’ve been taking it in turns to open boxes from the House of Fraser makeup calendar too. Peter absolutely loved his lipstick!

Mission Christmas has been a success. We’ve received gorgeous presents from The Little Stars Nursery, Freehold CPA, The Focus Trust, Creative Cow Web Design and Aspect IT – we now have heaps of lovely presents in our Santa’s Grotto, which are to be delivered to the underprivileged youngsters of Manchester. This is such a fantastic cause and we are proud to be a part of it.
