1.1 School Context and History
Once you have information about your school’s context, it would be useful to consider
these questions:
o Is our school larger or smaller than average? Is it growing in size?
o Do we have more girls than boys? Is this changing over time?
o Is the percentage of pupils eligible for free school meals higher or lower than average?
o Is the percentage of pupils from minority ethnic groups higher or lower than average?
o Is the percentage of pupils first language not English higher or lower than average?
o How does our school compare with the national averages for pupils with SEN?
o How does our school compare with the national averages for pupil mobility?
