Since the Non-Negotiables publication was first released in 2010, hundreds of schools have used the principle and content as a basis for ensuring a rigorous focus on basic skills.
This edition keeps the central premise that school's need a clear map of the basic skills to be taught in each year group. This is essential for children to unlock their learning and make progress. The content has been revised to take account of the draft National Curriculum which will be statutory from 2014.
The publication includes a one page breakdown for each year group identifying the minimum basic skills in oracy, reading, writing and mathematics. This edition also includes the following appendices:
- A3 page at a glance summary of basics for the whole school in each area
- Ready-made parent leaflets outlining the basic skills for each year group
The whole publication and appendices are included on an accompanying CD in editable form so that you can amend, add your logo etc.Included on OTrack, click here for details.
