Headteacher Appraisal Consultancy

Is your school looking for an expert External Advisor for Headteacher Appraisal?

An external advisor is a statutory requirement for Boards of Governance when they undertake their annual Headteacher appraisal meeting, usually in the autumn term.

Focus Education can provide this service as part of our wide-ranging school support.

Tim Nelson, who runs our popular Headteacher Inspection Training, has been the external advisor for headteacher appraisal for many schools across the country for over ten years.

He brings this wealth of experience to the role and is fully trained each year with the latest guidance and requirements through his local authority improvement team role.

Tim ensures all the statutory procedures are followed and completes all the necessary paperwork for governors and the headteacher. He is also skilled in supporting the process for governors who are less experienced in the appraisal process.

The process comprises a half-day meeting (either in school or online to suit the school) and a half-day that includes preparation for the meeting and then writing up the review documentation.

Please bear in mind that many schools already use this service during the Autumn term, so early booking is advised.
