This resource supports teachers in developing effective questioning, utilising the 'Knowledge Dimension' as it has been applied to each stage of Bloom's revised taxonomy. The focus on the acquisition of knowledge recognises the Ofsted demand that schools ensure pupils are taught knowledge and skills in all subjects.

The resource summarises the research into effective teaching that underpins the Ofsted handbook. It includes nearly 100 example questions for each of the National Curriculum subjects (except modern languages). These questions aim to develop pupils' metacognition, an aspect of learning that has the greatest impact on progress.
