Adaptive teaching is a key strategy for creating a fully inclusive classroom and has been proven to improve pupil outcomes. It is integral to the Teachers’ Standards, Early Career Framework and Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework.
It involves teachers knowing their pupils’ prior levels of attainment and providing targeted support. The training includes practical ways to achieve this, focusing on what teachers must consider before, during and after lessons and gives ideas and strategies to make adaptive teaching work across the curriculum.
