Description
Vocabulary is a crucial part of any curriculum. It’s important to understand the different layers of vocabulary that need to be taught and how we can plan for this progressively within subject specific areas.
We will consider:
• Beck and Mckeown’s tiers of vocabulary
• Examples of how vocabulary progression can be put together effectively.
• The need to identify additional vocabulary and develop teacher subject knowledge
• How we can build vocabulary development into more articulate talk within a subject.
You do not need to be a subscriber of the Learning Challenge Curriculum to watch this course, you can benefit from this course, whatever curriculum you are using and it will help.
