Sequencing and progression are fundamental to a curriculum that works. Building effective progression into your curriculum involves considering the key components and how they will develop through a child's time in your school.

Using the Learning Challenge Curriculum as an example, one of our curriculum consultants, Alex Neophitou, will take you through how we can piece together a curriculum that is progressive and helps children to retain knowledge and apply it across different concepts.

We will consider what progression looks like across the curriculum elements of:
•    Substantive knowledge
•    Disciplinary knowledge
•    Golden threads
•    Vocabulary development

Free to Learning Challenge Curriculum subscribers (on our LCC website), and only £10.00 for non-subscribers, this 30-minute session is an opportunity for subject and curriculum leaders to consider how to ensure that their curriculum is progressive and that learning builds on learning.

You do not need to be a subscriber of the Learning Challenge Curriculum to attend this course, you can attend this course, whatever curriculum you are using and it will help.

Review of Training Session with Alex from Focus Education: Ensuring Your Curriculum is Progressive

Recently, we had the pleasure of attending a highly informative training session led by Alex from Focus Education on the topic of "Ensuring Your Curriculum is Progressive." This session was perfectly timed (integrated into our normal staff meeting time), for both our new and existing staff members as we embark on a new academic year, providing invaluable insights and strategies to enhance our curriculum offer.

The session sparked great food for thought amongst our curriculum team, empowering us to critically assess and refine our educational approaches. Moreover, we greatly appreciated the follow-up link and resources shared with us for those unable to attend. This ensures that all staff can access and benefit from the key takeaways, making the experience inclusive and beneficial for everyone.

As always, we are grateful for the ongoing support from Focus Education in helping us develop and enhance our curriculum offer. Their expertise is instrumental in our journey towards delivering a progressive and impactful educational experience for our Lenthall Learners.
