Janice is a retired special educational needs teacher who has worked in both mainstream and special education for over 25 years. Prior to taking early retirement she worked, on a senior management team, as an Assistant Headteacher and SENCO in a large outstanding special school in Lancashire.

During her 13 years at this school she was responsible for setting up the specialist provision for pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and provided advice, training and support for the staff within the school and for some of their local mainstream partners.

She has also worked as a specialist ASD teacher in Wigan where she was part of a team that established a new provision for pupils with ASD and other associated social communication difficulties.

Prior to this she worked for Salford Support Service on their ASD team supporting pupils and professionals, in mainstreams primary schools, across the borough.

Qualifications:
BA Hons Teaching & Learning Support with QTS
PGC in SPLD (Dyslexia)
Autism Education Trust (AET) Level 3
